Replacement Parts for your RV Awning
The awning is a very important part of the RV, and as such it is very important to keep it in pristine shape. Of course that is not always possible; accidents happen, and so does normal wear and tear. In the event that you find yourself with a non functional awning then you will need to order replacement parts. The type of RV awning parts that you get will depend heavily on what sort of awning you have for your RV.
If you have a standard rope and pole awning then there is really not that much to replace. You basically just have poles and awning. The awning itself will be easy to replace because it is probably made of fabric, though in replacing it you have a lot of different choices as to which fabric to use. There are also brackets that attach the awning to the RV which you will need to obtain if you find these are faulty. If you do not then you will find the awning falling off of the side of the RV and all over everything that you were doing on your cool RV awning mat.
There is a chance that you had an aluminum awning, and if that is the case then you will either need to get that replaced if something goes wrong, or you will need to go back to a fabric awning. Aluminum is slightly more expensive. If this is what you prefer though, it will be well worth the extra expense to get both the protection that it provides as well as the aesthetics!
There are ways to repair your awning, you can actually get a special tape which you can apply in the event that your awning ends up torn. There is also a sealant you can use on your fabric awning to make sure that it is protected against weather and other elements.
You need something to pull your awning down with, and that is why there are replacement knobs and straps for the awning. You can buy these online or in a store, whichever way you desire. If you have a self retracting awning then you probably don't have to worry about this unless you get the urge to yank on it for no particular reason.
Remember that the locking mechanism for the awning has a lot of moving parts such as gears and springs. If any of these break you'll need to go looking for parts that match the model you happen to have. You will have a better time finding these online simply because you will be able to search for your exact model number.
There are a lot of different parts that will come in handy, and to keep from having to search for them it would be advisable to have them on hand at all times just in case the unexpected should occur. Always plan ahead and nothing will catch you off guard...usually.
